It is a real standoff that is being erected between the provincial authorities of Kinshasa on the one hand, and on the other hand, the political and social forces, united around secular Protestants and Catholics, who demand depoliticization. of the independent national electoral commission (CENI).
While the Kinshasa police official confirmed the ban on the sit-in of the patriotic bloc scheduled for Monday, November 22, 2021 in front of the headquarters of the electoral center, the patriotic bloc has decided to override this decision.
“We have a message to pass in relation to the CENI and this message must pass in front of the CENI. So, whatever the conditions, until now, we maintain our activity. Hunted or not, our message will be carried ”, declared on Top Congo Fm, Jean-Bosco Lalo, President of the ministry of the Protestant laity (MILAPRO).
Associated with the Catholic laity of CALCC, Lamuka and the kabilist bloc to demand the depoliticization of the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI), the president of MILAPRO nevertheless reported that the organizers and the provincial authority did not agree on the Information letter. Several contradictory reasons have been mentioned.
According to him, the Governor of Kinshasa declared that the CENI site on the Boulevard du 30 Juin is a neutral zone like the commune of Gombe where it is located.
“Only we are in an information regime, we have informed,” he said while assuring that he had not yet received the letter prohibiting this sit-in.
“You will notice that we have not acknowledged receipt of the letter circulating on social networks. We therefore do not know where this letter comes from. Of course, we were with the provincial authority. She spoke about it, but we did not receive the letter, ”added Jean-Bosco Lalo.
It should be recalled that in application of the Governor’s decision banning this sit-in of the patriotic bloc, the head of the Kinshasa City Police, General Sylvano Kasongo, has promised to take all the necessary measures to enforce the law.
