The Prime Minister, Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde Kyenge, proceeded, this Friday, October 15, 2021, to the official closing of the 23rd Annual General Assembly of the Organization for the Cooperation of Chiefs of Police of East Africa (EAPCCO ), which opened on Monday, October 11 at the Congo River Hotel.

Among the achievements of the DRC in this work, the Commissioner General of the National Police of the Democratic Republic of the Congo took control of the organization which was until then chaired by the Inspector General of the Police Forces of Tanzania. On the political level, the Deputy Prime Minister in charge of the Interior, Security, Customary Affairs and Decentralization of the DRC, Daniel Aselo, took the helm of the Forum of Ministers in charge of security issues of the EAPCCO. , replacing its counterpart from Tanzania.

In his closing speech, the Prime Minister, Sama Lukonde congratulated the participants for the work carried out during these meetings and hopes that the recommendations will echo favorably with the various governments that took part.
“Your presence demonstrates the greatness of your spirit of responsibility in the face of our fight against transnational and cross-border crime and terrorism. I congratulate you all for the work you have done here in Kinshasa. And I am sure that all the recommendations contained in the final report will find a favorable echo with our respective governments ”, said the Prime Minister.
With this in mind, Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde took this opportunity to congratulate the VPM Daniel Aselo who took the head of the Organization.
“I also take this opportunity to congratulate the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Interior, Security and Customary Affairs of the Democratic Republic of the Congo on his assumption of the presidency of the organization of Ministers of Cooperation of Police Chiefs of East Africa. Once again, congratulations dear ladies and gentlemen for this work accomplished. With that, I declare the 23rd General Assembly of the East African Police Chiefs Cooperation Organization closed and I thank you, ”concluded Sama Lukonde.
It should be noted that, for 5 days, this work brought together the Ministers in charge of security issues of the member countries of the Organization for the Cooperation of Chiefs of Police of East Africa, the Representative of the Secretary General of ‘INTERPOL, Ambassadors and Heads of Diplomatic Missions, Police Chiefs of EAPCCO Member States. All these participants counted on issues related to the fight against transnational and cross-border crime and terrorism which today constitute a great scourge for the member countries of this sub-regional organization.
